A discussion about how cities around the world can partner more strategically with the insurance sector to unlock finance for green and sustainable investments in support of their net zero ambitions, while increasing urban resilience against the shocks and stresses of climate change. The panellists will delve into how cities, the insurance sector and the finance sector can collaborate more effectively to overcome the urban climate finance gap. The panel will:

  • Highlight the importance of urban resilience to achieving both societal resilience and global carbon emission goals, and how that can only be achieved through public-private collaboration
  • Introduce the Fellowship as an example effective collaboration
  • Introduce the importance of finance to unlock the practical action required if we are to create sustainable, resilient, carbon-neutral cities.
