The hour-long webinar is designed to explore the innovative strategies the City of Dallas is implementing to enhance the lives of its citizens and foster sustainable growth. We will delve into a number of key areas of focus, including connectivity, mobility, environment, citizen participation, public safety, and economic development.
Specifically we will address
- Connectivity – Bridging the digital divide: How can improved connectivity bridge the digital divide and create new possibilities for everyone in the city?
- Mobility – Pioneering transportation solutions: Talking Point: "Dallas is at the forefront of redefining urban mobility with initiatives like autonomous vehicle testing, bike-sharing programs, and improved public transportation. How can innovative mobility solutions make Dallas more accessible, efficient, and environmentally friendly?"
- Environment – Greening the city: How do environmental efforts not only benefit the planet but also improve the quality of life for Dallas residents?

- Economic development – Fostering innovation and growth: How can public-private partnerships contribute to the city’s economic prosperity?

Genesis Gavino Chief of Staff to the City Manager and Resilience Officer City of Dallas
Genesis currently serves as the Deputy Resilience Officer where she works closely with the executive team across the organization to implement the Resilient Dallas Strategy. She is also the Chief of Staff to the City Manager where she manages the Council Agenda Office, Local Government Management Fellows Program, departmental budgets and works with the executive team to advance the City’s strategic priorities.
Genesis has served as lead in the organization’s interdepartmental and collaborative projects, most recently the implementation of the Council Agenda Preparation System through Granicus – Legistar, and the development and implementation of a pilot program to activate City Hall Plaza.

Joseph Breems Senior Executive and Director of Municipal Practice The National League of Cities
Joseph leads NLC’s Center for Municipal Practice, overseeing teams that provide members and municipalities across the country with the tools, technical assistance, and peer learning to put new policy and programs into practice. Most recently Joseph was the Chief Project Delivery Officer at Howard University, within the Office of the Chief Strategy Officer. Prior to his time in higher education Joseph worked in government, both municipal and federal, for a number of years.
