Listen to this webinar to understand how intermodality is key to sustainability and how to map the strategy.
Date Recorded: Monday 25 November 2019
Length: 55 mins, including Q&A
For city planners, success is often measured in terms of a user’s transactional ability to get from point A to point B in the short run. The user experience should not only be thought of in terms of a user’s cumulative journeys, but also the impact of those trips on a city and the environment.
60 per cent of public sector leaders agree that a short-term focus impedes long-term planning. 80 per cent cite “driving innovation” as an important priority, and 80 per cent also cite advanced analytics as an important capability, according to a Deloitte study.
Pratik Desai, product marketing manager at HERE, believe that intermodality naturally leads to sustainability. More than a secondary benefit, sustainability is worth pursuing in its own right because it enables a continuum of advancements via long-term financial benefits relating to citizen health, an improved local economy, and more.
In sharing this multi-faceted vision, Desai will illustrate how urban mobility solutions powered by location software enable municipalities to:
• Make intermodal trips the path of least resistance and the most widely adopted
• Plan and use transportation methods efficiently across the network
• Discover blind spots inhibiting user adoption or local economic growth
