There’s still time to be a part of SmartCitiesWorld’s Cities Climate Action Summit 2024, which promises to be one of the most action-oriented climate events for cities this year.
With this year’s SmartCitiesWorld Cities Climate Action Summit (CCAS24) just one week away, the extreme heat warnings for countries in Southern Europe as well as the US and Canada are a stark reminder to cities around the world of the threat that climate change is posing.
With cities on the frontline of climate action, CCAS24 aims to equip cities with the knowledge and tools they need to fight the impact of climate change being felt on their doorsteps and will build on the momentum of the inaugural Cities Climate Action Summit last year.
An official London Climate Action Week event, CCAS24 takes place online on 26 June and in-person on 27 June at London’s iconic County Hall building, overlooking the River Thames, and aims to be one of the most action-oriented climate events for cities this year.
It will begin with a timely keynote from Eleni Myrivili, global chief heat officer, UN Habitat, and Arsht-Rock and a leading voice on urban heat, in which she will share her expertise on strategies for building heat-resilient cities.
In total, the speaker line-up brings together mayors, city policymakers, climate, technology, finance and smart city professionals from more than 25 global cities. Cities represented include Austin, Barcelona, Boston, Bologna, Braga, Dubai, Freetown, Glasgow, Greater Manchester, The Hague, Helsinki, Kyiv, Miami, Milton Keynes, Prague, London, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Sheffield, Sunderland, Tallinn, Toronto and Vilnius.
Some 2,500 delegates are expected to join the conversation from around the world over the two days, online and in-person, and those wanting to be part of the discussion can register here. Limited commercial opportunities are also available and those interested should click the link below.
