SmartCitiesWorld has agreed to a media partnership with Leading Cities to support initiatives such as AcceliCITY and AcceliGOV that seek to solve urban challenges and support the wider smart city ecosystem.
As part of the agreement, SmartCitiesWorld will give media support to these projects and others linked to solving urban challenges. SmartCitiesWorld will also provide the Leading Cities community access to its content resources.
Leading Cities is a non-profit organisation that improves global sustainability, resiliency, and quality of life by helping cities achieve their transformation through developing smart city ecosystems, implementing smart city solutions, and reducing the risk and cost of civic innovation.
“Our partnership with SmartCitiesWorld provides our community with a greater ability to share and access valuable information”
Its signature AcceliCITY programme leverages the Leading Cities network of forward-thinkers in the public, private, academic and non-profit sectors to advance innovation in local governments. The programme lowers the cost and risk of innovation for start-ups as well as cities and corporations by streamlining the innovation and sales cycles for smart city solutions.
“Our partnership with SmartCitiesWorld provides our community with a greater ability to share and access valuable information, helping city leaders stay informed of global developments and will give wider exposure to AcceliCITY and AcceliGOV," said Michael Lake, president and CEO of Leading Cities.
He added: "This agreement will extend that sharing of ideas and solutions to solve urban challenges and in doing so promote our shared values.”
Chris Cooke, founder and CEO of SmartCitiesWorld, said: “Our partnership with Leading Cities will enable both organisations to grow our global networks and offer more to our professional communities. By providing quality information and services, we will help inform and support city leaders and their partners to make cities smarter, safer, more resilient, sustainable and prosperous places in which citizens and businesses can thrive.”
More than 100,000 visitors from the public and private sectors around the world use SmartCitiesWorld’s global content resource for urban leaders each month.
