Roundtable Discussions (2 March): Assessing real-world applications and consequences of urban air mobility

As urban air mobility solutions continue to be developed, SmartCitiesWorld hosts a live roundtable at Global Urban & Advanced Air Summit (GUASS) with a group of city practitioners to assess how this innovative new mode of transportation could support cities’ new mobility objectives, from passenger transport to the delivery of goods.

 

The expert roundtable will come together to discuss:

  • New physical and digital infrastructure requirements to implement UAM in their cities, from take off and landing space, to airspace management technology
  • Policy development to ensure safe and secure deployment in urban spaces
  • Which applications of UAM they believe will most benefit their cities and their approach to partnering with new players in a new mobility market
  • Keeping UAM accessible and equitable for citizens
  • Realistic timeframes for deployment of UAM services and reflection on existing pilots and projects

In advance of the roundtable, SmartCitiesWorld's will provide all guests with some questions to think about. Luke Antoniou, Senior Editor of SmartCitiesWorld, will then set the scene for the lunchtime roundtable and introduce our guests speakers who will talk through relevant urban air mobility projects amongst others.

 

 

We will look at a number of initiatives and discuss the issues, challenges and learning that other cities can take away.

Biography:  

 

David is responsible for all marketing and commercial functions of the Company’s business, focusing on both the Company’s existing end markets and the transformation of the Company’s business mix through strategic diversification into new markets.  

 

David currently leads multiple strategic partnerships with AAM stakeholders through which Bristow currently provides critical operations expertise, and operational considerations as it relates to safety, vehicle design, commercialization, aircraft certification, flight planning best practices, and government and community affairs

 

Before joining Bristow Group, David held several positions within PHI Inc and held a variety of leadership positions at Era, Sikorsky Aircraft, (20 years) and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a heavy lift helicopter avionics technician.
