As UK cities look to ‘level up’, they are faced with numerous verticals in which they can innovate to deliver better experiences for citizens and improve local economies, as well as improve their own operational processes to drive time and cost efficiency.
Among those that can deliver the most significant benefits in each of the above areas is innovation in how cities can improve the way they manage and maintain road networks. Through the adoption of new data-driving technology, and the adaptation of existing processes informed by the value that technology provides, there are several ways in which city and transport authorities can develop and improve their road networks and roadside infrastructure.
In this roundtable, we’ll bring together delegates from city/regional authorities, transport authorities, infrastructure project management groups, and technology vendors to discuss:
The importance of road and roadside management to the UK levelling up agenda
New technology, such as AI and computer vision, that can aid authorities in meeting their objectives for infrastructure management and maintenance
The use of data collected by such technologies to improve processes and save time and money
Overcoming associated data privacy, security and ownership concerns
The gradual integration of technology into vehicles and infrastructure
