Name: Paul Copping

Title: Chief Innovation Officer

Biography:

Paul Copping is Chief Innovation Officer at Digital Greenwich. His role is to engage with industrial partners to deploy integrated technology solutions that will result in more agile, cheaper services for Greenwich citizens, while also generating revenue to support further research and development.Paul is currently working on several smart city projects, including Dubai RTA driverless cars, MAVEN, MOVE-UK and GATEway. He is also leading the development of a multi-city collaborative procurement framework. He has an MBA in Marketing and an MA in Spanish and French.

Paul’s previous experience includes seven years at the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL Ltd) where he was Corporate Development Director and twenty years of senior commercial management in the international telecoms industry, including BT and Nortel Networks, where he was Vice President of Corporate Development.

Name: Gergely (Gary) Raccuja
Title: Senior Strategic Consultant

Company: Amey Consulting

Biography:

Gergely started out as a transport planner with Amey in Birmingham. His proposal, entitled Miles Better, which called to replace all current direct taxes on motoring with a single per-mile charge won the 2017 Wolfson Economics Prize.

Following this he joined Amey Consulting’s Strategic Consulting team to learn and apply data-led asset management to improve the UK’s transport systems. He is currently supporting the transformation of Greater Manchester’s Metrolink tram network, by leading their Engineering Improvement Programme

Name: Cllr Richard Livingstone

Title: Cabinet member for Environment, Transport Management and Air Quality

Biography:

Richard Livingstone is Southwark Council’s cabinet member for Environment, Transport Management and Air Quality. His responsibilities include waste management, recycling, air quality, green energy, street cleaning, highway infrastructure, traffic management, increasing levels of cycle and pedestrian travel, markets and the borough’s crematorium and cemetery service.

Biography:

Michael has over 30 years' experience in real-time operations involving command and control for operational projects in aviation and civil engineering for highways. He leads multi-disciplinary teams on the delivery of projects from inception to completion. His work in highways and aviation has included various roles focused on delivering operational outcomes through employing operational and data analysis, allied with emerging technology. Additionally, Michael has been involved with the unmanned aerial vehicle project for AmeyVTOL.

Dan Hubert, founder of AppyParking is on mission to make parking a truly forgettable experience. By creating a data driven mobility platform that bridges HD maps, IoT and payments, cities can manage and monetise their roadside network while enabling connected cars and fleets to interact freely with the kerbside.

His ambitious goal has earned AppyParking recent accolades such as the 15th most disruptive company in the World and the UK’s most innovative parking technology company 2018.

Biography:

Steve Norris was a Conservative Member of Parliament for Oxford East and then Epping Forest from 1983 to 1997. He was Parliamentary Private Secretary in the Departments of Environment, Trade & Industry and the Home Office and in 1992 was appointed Minister for Transport with a special responsibility for all London transport. After retiring from Parliament he was twice his party’s candidate for Mayor of London outperforming the national party substantially on both occasions.

Steve has combined a career in politics with a business career in the fields of property, infrastructure and transportation. He has been a member of the Boards of both Transport for London and the London Development Agency and recently served on the Treasury’s Growth Task Force for HS2. He is on the Board of Cubic Corporation, the developers and managers of the London Oyster card. Having a particular interest in infrastructure he chairs the National Infrastructure Planning Association which works with government to improve the planning regime around major projects and advises a number of clients on major schemes.

Biography:

Peter has spent the last 3 years mostly doing data and technology policy. First with the UK Labour Party and then with the Open Data Institute.

Previous history includes 20 years experience in the tech and telecoms sector covering pre-sales, consultancy and operational roles.

Name: Paul Darlow

Title: Traffic & Network Manager

Company: Portsmouth City Council

Biography:

Paul is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Portsmouth's road network. He looks at the application of technology to the on-street environment to create a Smart City.

Paul is also the Programme Director for the Local Transport Plan, comprising 20 projects totalling £1.5m.
