Driving meaningful AI experiences in urban spaces
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we live, work, and interact in urban spaces. From smart mobility to public safety, from waste management to citizen engagement, AI offers new opportunities and challenges for local governments and communities.
The aim of this series of roundtable discussions, hosted in partnership with Microsoft, is to explore the implementation of AI solutions that enhance the quality of life and well-being of urban residents and visitors, as well as the workforce of cities.
The roundtables are an opportunity to have open, transparent discussions with city and local government peers from around the world in a closed-room, off-the-record setting, coming together to share challenges, case studies and solutions on AI implementation in cities today. These discussions will foster and encourage collaboration and innovation among different stakeholders in the urban ecosystem.
There will be a series of four separate roundtables to attend, cover the following themes:
• Delivering personalised citizen experiences
• Empowering the local government workforce
• Transforming local government operations
• Protecting data privacy and sovereignty for local governments

We will dive into the role of AI and cloud solutions in balancing innovation with sovereignty, with attendees given the opportunity to look at driving economic and social progress while ensuring citizen data remains protected. As Director of Strategic Marketing at Madrid City Council, she leads the tourism brand strategy and coordinates its digital transformation integrating cutting-edge technologies like AI to enhance the visitor experience.

Biography:
Camila Neves is a public sector and management specialist with over 15 years of experience in the government sector. Together with her team, she leads the Automatiza project, an initiative that promotes the development of automation skills for public servants. The results include, among others, over 7,000 hours saved in public processes and more than 800 trained public servants.

Abdoulmajid Bozia has been director of Digital Facilities at the municipality of Amsterdam since 2022. He has held various positions as director and strategic advisor in the field of digitalization and business operations, also at other local authorities.
