Entrants are required to register their proposals and build as much support as they can in the form of votes
Telefonica is using its Open Future innovation platform to launch the first TOF Global Race, a competition to identify the most innovative technological project which makes use of new technologies and to give it international visibility.
The person behind the project or start-up will be awarded an invitation that includes travel, accommodation and admission to the 4YFN (Four Years From Now), a leading entrepreneurial forum. The event is being held in Barcelona, between 27 February and 1 March 2017, where they will be announced as the winner and will be able to present their project to the public.
The virtual race is aimed at fledgling projects that have no income and less than 1,000 users. Competitors are required to register their proposals and build as much support as they can in the form of votes before 15 January.
Proposals that receive the most votes will be included in a final shortlist and the winner will be selected from the shortlist by international experts from the Open Future network before 31 January.
Along the way, all the participating projects and start-ups will test their mobilisation abilities, raising awareness and opening doors to support opportunities and acceleration by the global Open Future network.
Telefonica said the entry process is very quick, as it only requires a short description of the startup, an image of it and, if possible, the posting of an explanatory video. From that moment, the process to gain the greatest number of supporting votes is then underway.
