Our roundtables always start with a mixture of networking with other cities representatives combined with a buffet style lunch. We then start proceedings with a short introduction from our SmartCitiesWorld editor followed by a scene setter - which will be led by the CTO of City of Atlanta and Georgia Power. The floor is then open for discussions which is curated by the SmartCitiesWorld editor.

 

After the roundtable there is further networking or delegates can walk across to Smart City Expo - which is a 3 minute walk. The timetable is as follows:

Roundtable Discussions

In advance of the roundtable, SmartCitiesWorld's will provide all guests with a preview of its latest City Profile report - which focuses on Atlanta. Sarah Wray, Editor of SmartCitiesWorld, will then set the scene for the lunchtime roundtable with a short snap shot of Atlanta's journey towards becoming a smart city.

 

We will then look at a number of initiatives within Atlanta and discuss the issues, challenges and learning that other cities can take away.

 

Delegates will have a chance to give their own views and to ask questions throughout this session - making it as interactive as possible!

Tye Hayes is an IT veteran who brings to her role experience in both the private and public sectors. She joined as the CTO for the City of Atlanta in December 2018

 

In her previous roles, Hayes was the deputy chief information officer for Atlanta Public Schools for most of 2014. Her resume also includes stints as information security/privacy officer and program manager with major private-sector companies such as Lockheed Martin and General Electric.

Biography:

 

Christine leads Strategy & Business Development for Smart Cities at Georgia Power, which is currently engaged in many initiatives across the state to promote safety, reliability, resiliency and efficiency, and build the “future of energy” in our future cities.

 

Most recently, Georgia Power, in partnership with AT&T and Current by GE, is leading a pilot within the City of Atlanta to deploy Intelligent Infrastructure sensors on existing assets to enable applications in public safety, mobility, and environmental sustainability.

 

Prior to Georgia Power, Christine was a Principal at SJF Ventures where she focused on smart cities sectors like energy, transportation, and industrial innovations.

Biography:

 

Austin Ashe is the Co-Founder and General Manager of GE Intelligent Cities. In this role, he leads the sales, marketing, alliances, and engineering teams required to deliver the world’s most advanced IoT sensor platform for cities, CityIQ. This open, cutting edge IoT technology enables scalable smart city applications that address a multitude of existing challenges and prepare cities for future growth.

 

Prior to being appointed General Manager, Austin led global product management and sales, where his team sold the World’s largest IoT sensor platform to the City of San Diego. Austin has held multiple roles within the past 10 years at GE, including LED Driver Global Product Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Government Relations Operations Manager, Cross-GE Business sales leader, Area Sales Manager (GE Water), and Regional Environmental, Health, & Safety leader (GE Water).
